Sure there are a lot of tools online that provide you all the on page analysis that you are looking for, but with experience you will find out that it’s better to do it by you own up till certain level.

Now what are the things that you should analyze for a site? When you get it at the initial level.

1 - The first thing that you must look for is whether it is being analyzed earlier, I mean whether it is being optimized earlier or not. 

2 – The basic error what a site hold is the canonical error or the index page and the 302 redirection error.

3 – Check for dead links.

4 – IF your site contain a lot of images then for sure check the alt tag issues. As images are treated as blank pages by search engines.

5 – Look for tags like H1, H2 and so on; H1 tags are very help full for optimizing the prime keyword of the Page.

6 – Anchor tags, help in improving interlinking in between the site and also gives you an edge on optimizing you keywords.

7 – Look for Meta tags whether they are there or not.

8 - Look for if there are any in lined coding which makes your site heavy and increases load time.

9 – Check the up time for the site.

10 – Content is the key. Make sure that the site hold good content, according to the site and if it holds good content then dose it hold the right amount of keyword percentage in it.

11 – Structure of the links is also very important; make sure that every page on your site is available in one or not more than two clicks.

12 – Check for the Site map, whether it exist in the site or not. Both XML and HTML.

13 – Keyword, title and description tags whether they have it or not.

14 – Google verification.

And many others will keep on updating.
